Legal Ruling Means Hospitality Firms Can Still Retire Staff at 65 – For Now

A North West law firm is urging hospitality firms to pay close attention to retirement age law after the High Court ruled that the current default retirement age of 65 is lawful – for now.
Mace & Jones head of employment law Martin Edwards said the ruling meant that employers are now able to compulsorily retire employees aged 65 and over.
Discount Vouchers Risk Cannibalising Restaurant and Pub Profit Margins

Analysis of the restaurant and managed pub industry by Deloitte, the business advisory firm, shows that discount vouchers and promotional offers have been helping to shore up trade for some companies during difficult times.
However, strategies that have proved successful in the downturn could still present challenges for the industry as it seeks to take advantage of improved economic conditions.
